Part of the American Eagle bullion program released by the United States Mint, the Silver Eagle bullion coins have become a staple investment in the precious metals industry. Shown on the Obverse of all Silver Eagles is the 'Walking Liberty,' designed by Adolph A. Weinman in 1916 for the Half Dollar, the coin was discontinued in 1947. The PCGS plaque shows the special First Strike designation along with the certification number, which can be checked on PCGS's website easily using their cert verification tool. Seen on the Reverse of the Silver Eagle, a rendition of a heraldic eagle with thirteen stars stands proudly. The design was created by sculptor/engraver John Mercanti and incorporates a modern element to balance the historic element depicted on the Obverse.
