The 2013 1/2 oz Edith Wilson $10 gold coin was minted to honor the second wife of President Woodrow Wilson. She reigned as the First Lady from 1915 till 1921.



A forward-facing portrait of Edith Wilson appears on the obverse of the gold coin. This is designed by David Westwood and sculpted by Michael Gaudioso.



Designed and sculpted by United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Joseph Menna, the reverse symbolizes Edith's support of her husband after his stroke. His hand is depicted resting on a cane with Edith's resting gently on top.
