What We Have Included

Mexican Gold Peso Coins

Peso needs no introduction. It marks the 100 years of Mexico’s independence from Spain.

They are composed of 90% fine Gold and 10% copper. They were released in two batches —from 1921 to 1931, and then from 1943 to 1972 — by the Mexican Mint.

All thanks to its growing popularity, the coins were issued in different denominations, namely 50 pesos, 20 pesos, 10 pesos, 5 pesos, 2.5 pesos, and 2 pesos.

Each coin is intricately designed, with the front side depicting the sign of independence —Winged Victory —and the flip side witnesses the Mexican Coat of Arms.

While they are commonly used, it’s the spot price of gold that stamps the real value of the coin. Also, the supply and demand factors govern the intrinsic value of the coin in the market.

Liberated Gold Coins

The Mexican Mint introduced Libertads Gold Coins in 1981. It resembles the Gold Peso coin to a great extent.

Unlike the predecessor, these coins were partially circulated. For instance, the 1 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1/4 oz were released in 1981, after which there was a lean phase for 10 years. In 1991, another batch was circulated in the form of 1/10 oz and 1/20 oz gold coins.

The Mexican Mint also issued Proof Gold Libertads and Reverse Proof Gold Libertads. The modern coins had inherent beauty and meticulous crafting that makes them all the more desirable.

A sought-after option for those who are enamored by Mexican history and are keen to invest in rare and precious gold.
