Full Description

Join Perth Mint in celebrating the animals of the Chinese Lunar Calendar by purchasing this Australian Silver 2 oz. Goat 2015 coin. This coin, a part of the second lunar series first started in 2008, features the goat, an animal associated with prosperity on the Lunar Calendar. This coin offers an opportunity to have a limited edition with a beautiful design and .999 fine silver content, making it popular with both collectors and investors.

The obverse design is an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II created by famed sculptor Ian Rank Broadley. The artists’ initials are engraved below the queen’s head. Around the coin are “Elizabeth II,” “Australia,” the weight and purity of 2 oz. .999 fine silver, the year mark of 2015, and the face value of 2 dollars.

The Lunar Calendar goat image was created by illustrator, sculptor and Perth Mint designer Natasha Muhl and features a grouping of goats grazing in a rural Australian setting. Muhl’s detailed depiction of the goats, with its stunningly accurate portrayal of the goats’ long hair, has been praised widely as one of the best of the Lunar Series. The Chinese character for “goat” is shown above the goats, and the inscription “Year of the Goat” appears below. To the left of the goats is the Perth Mint mark “P.”
