Full Description

Made in the United States, the one ounce copper rounds were minted privately and are guaranteed to contain one-ounce of .999 fine copper.

Created by artist James Earle Fraser, the Buffalo Nickel was released from 1913 until 1938 and was part of the effort to beautify American coinage.

The Obverse of the one-ounce .999 fine Copper Round showcases the design in beautiful detail. Shown facing right, a Native American appears in profile with feathers adorning his head and braided hair falling on his shoulder. “Liberty” is inscribed above his head. On an actual Buffalo Nickel, the date would appear on the lower left.

Pictured on the Reverse is the iconic image of the American Bison. Facing left, the animal is supposed to be the likeness of the famous bison, Black Diamond, who resided in the Central Park Zoo. On the .999 Copper Round, the weight and purity are inscribed as opposed to the typical coin wording.

Pure copper rounds, like the one ounce .999 Copper Buffalo Nickel are sensitive to the oils of the human hand. GMR recommends handling your coins with gloves, or by the edges to avoid staining the surface. Store in a sulfur-free environment, like the pvc tubing, or capsules to ensure the longevity of your investment.
