Full Description

Unique for its incuse or engraved design, the Incuse Indian coin designed by Bela Pratt Lyon was a circulated coin. Now, this 1/4 troy ounce Incuse Indian Silver Round is available for purchase through GMRgold.com. Because this is a fractional silver round, it is inexpensive to buy and easy to trade. Traditionally, silver rounds were a cost-effective way to increase precious metals portfolios, and this is still true today. Yet more recently, silver rounds which are well-struck with interesting designs have become popular with collectors as well.

Obverse

The front of this silver round features a Native American chief in a full feathered headdress in a left-facing profile. Above is the word ‘Liberty,’ below is the year 1929, and between these along the edge are stars. The original design was first created by Bela Lyon Pratt and used on the Indian Head quarter eagle and half eagle coins.

Reverse

Pratt also created the original design that was used for early 20th century coinage and now used anew for this Fractional Silver Round. The design depicts an eagle standing on a bunch of arrows with an olive branch intertwined. The weight and purity are listed at the bottom, while the mottoes ‘E Pluribus Unum’ and ‘In God We Trust’ are inscribed to the left and right of the eagle.
