Full Description

After World War I, Americans were more than ready to celebrate an era of peace. Coin collectors began calling for a new U.S. dollar to capture the spirit of the times. Congress complied with the wishes of the numismatists by authorizing a new design to acknowledge the triumphant mood of the people. In 1921, the first Peace Dollar was produced, much to the satisfaction of the coin collectors. The coin was minted from 1921 to 1928, and then again in 1934 and 1935. Presented here are Silver Peace Dollars in Mint State 66, as graded by NGC. This is a common date coin, selected at random by us; however, if you would like a specific year, please let us know. We may be able to get it for you to complete your collection of these beautiful coins featuring the triumphant Lady Liberty.

Obverse

The obverse of the Silver Peace Dollar depicts Lady Liberty and was designed by Anthony de Francisci after that artist won a coin design competition. De Francisci modeled Lady Liberty after his own wife, lending a look of familiarity to the image. Lady Liberty is shown facing left, wearing a radiant crown.

Reverse

The reverse of the coins feature a standing American Eagle clutching arrows with an olive branch below them.
