The United States Mint’s First Spouse Gold Coins are struck in one-half ounce of .9999 fine (24-karat) gold. Each coin honors the nations’ first spouse’s life and work. For the 16th Presidency, President Lincoln’s wife, Mary Todd, is featured.

Each coin shows the first lady on the obverse, or the front, of the coin, and a famous aspect pertaining to their life on the reverse. The coin featured is a Uncirculated version of the coin; otherwise known as a Mint State coin. It is graded MS70, which is the highest grade for a  Uncirculated coin.
