Alice Paul First Spouse Gold Coin MS70
The United States Mint’s First Spouse Gold Coins are struck in one-half ounce of .9999 fine (24-karat) gold. Each coin honors the nations’ first spouse’s life and work. But for the Presidency of Chester Arthur, who was a widower, congress deemed his term will be represented in the First Spouse series by famous Suffragist, Alice Paul; who was born during his Presidency. Her place in the program is extremely unique, and a wonderful representation of history and artistry.
Each coin shows the first lady on the obverse, or the front, of the coin, and a famous aspect pertaining to their life on the reverse. The coin featured is a Uncirculated version of the coin; otherwise known as a Mint State coin. It is graded MS70, which is the highest grade for a Uncirculated coin.
