Full Description

First released by the Perth Mint in 1990, the Australian Silver Kookaburra is a wonderful investment opportunity for precious metals enthusiasts to make.

Comprised of .999 fine silver, the coin features the Kookaburra, whose cry is often synonymous with the sound of the wilderness or jungle. Native to Australia and New Guinea, the carnivorous bird was chosen to be the mascot for the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney.

The Reverse image on the Australian Silver Kookaburra changes yearly, and showcases the magnificent animal in various poses and settings.

Obverse

On the Obverse of the coin, the profile of Queen Elizabeth II graces the central part of the coin and inscriptions denoting the coins denomination are shown around the Queen’s image.

Reverse

Shown on the Reverse of the 2015 Silver Australian Kookaburra features the original 1990 design in celebration of the series 25th Anniversary. A beautifully detail Kookaburra is shown in profile facing right and sitting atop a tree stump; various species plants can be seen in the background. Around the image, “The Australian Kookaburra,” the coins weight and purity are inscribed. The year range 1990-2015 shows the years of the series run.
