Full Description

Baseball lovers will appreciate this Uncirculated National Baseball Hall of Fame Commemorative coin. These coins are issued to celebrate and honor the 75th anniversary of National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014. This beautiful nickel-clad copper coin calls to mind the glory days of baseball’s past in the vividly-rendered images of a baseball and baseball glove. Offered here as a proof commemorative coin, it makes an ideal gift for any baseball fan or coin collector.

Obverse:

The obverse of the coin features a baseball glove arched like a concave semi-circle. The rich detailing on the glove shows seams and stitches clearly, as well as a palm that looks appears to have been shaped to the player’s hand by wear. The words 'Liberty' and 'In God We Trust' are inscribed skillfully around palm of the glove. The date is also shown on the front of the coin. This obverse design was created by Cassie McFarland and sculpted by Don Everhart.

Reverse:

The reverse design depicts a baseball, very much like the ones used in Major League Baseball. The reverse was both designed and sculpted by Don Everhart. The back of the coin is inscribed with 'United States of America,’ the motto 'E PLURIBUS UNUM' and the denomination of “Half-Dollar.”
