Full Description

The American Buffalo, better known as the Gold Buffalo, was put up on sale by the United States Mint on 22 June, 2006. The 24 karat bullion coin is based on the Indian Head Nickel design by James Earle Fraser and has derived its name from the American Bison which resides on the reverse side of this masterpiece. Its the first ever (.9999) 24 karat gold minted by the United States government for the local masses. The coin mintage was limited to 300,000 coins.
