Full Description

Julia Tyler was the 2nd wife of John Tyler. She married John after the death of his first wife. Most of the things we take granted for today are a result of the efforts she put into getting them accepted. John Tyler said that it was Julia Tyler who was responsible for the annexation of Texas. It was a result of her gentle persuasion. It was Julia Tyler who suggested the playing of "hail to the Chief" on the inauguration of the President.

The Obverse:  The obverse features Lady Tyler looking stunning in her portrait. The obverse was designed by Joel Iskowitz and was sculpted by Don Everhart.

The Reverse: The reverse features the couple, John Tyler and Julia Tyler, dancing together at the White House Ball.
