Full Description

With the introduction of the Silver American Eagle in 1986, the U.S. Mint established its first silver bullion program. This coin is a testament to the commitment of the U.S. Mint to produce high quality, beautifully-designed coins for collectors and investors alike. The 2007-W Silver American Eagle offered here is an Early Release coin in MS-70 condition as certified by NGC. This coin is burnished as it is minted using a special die. The coin features the mintmark W.

Obverse

The front of the coin features a rendition of the Adolph A. Weinman Walking Liberty design. Lady Liberty walks toward the rays of a rising sun. An American flag is draped across her shoulder, and she carries branches in her left arm. Above her figure is the word ‘Liberty. Also on the obverse are the motto ‘In God We Trust’ and the year of issue.

Reverse

The American Eagle is shown on the back of the coin as originally designed by John Mercant. Its wings are outspread, with a striped shield in front. The eagle holds in its beak a ribbon with the motto E Pluribus Unum and in its talons an olive branch and a bunch of arrows. Above the eagle’s head, in a downward-pointing triangle pattern, are 13 stars representing the 13 original colonies. Above the eagle is ‘United States of America,’ and below is the weight of 1 oz. Fine Silver and the face value of one dollar. The mintmark is shown to the lower left of the eagle.
