Full Description

The 2005 California State Silver Quarter is a great first coin for aspiring numismatists and silver investors. It is part of the US government’s 50 state quarter series and features iconography celebrating California’s natural beauty. Like all US Quarters, the front of the coin features the head of George Washington, the country’s first president, as well as the year it was minted. The back shows an image of John Muir walking through Yosemite Valley, with an eagle soaring overhead.

This coin comes from part of a larger series and thus is the perfect gift for coin collectors of all ages. Moreover, the California model is particularly sought after due to the high population and cultural affinity that the state possess. As this coin is only silver clad it is not sufficiently pure to be part of a silver IRA or 401(k), but the value of the silver in it will still reflect the movement of the spot price of silver on the market.

Obverse:

The front of the coin features the classic image from the standard American quarter, that of a profile picture of the country’s first president, George Washington, as well as the mint date that it was produced.

Reverse:

The reverse of the coin features environmentalist John Muir as he strolls to Yosemite Valley while and eagle soars overhead (UC) NGC.
