Full Description

Great celebrations marked the end of World War II in 1945. The war had been an enormous trial for America, but victory was sweet. In 1995, the U.S. Mint produced a silver coin to commemorate that historic era. Because the U.S. was in the war from 1941 to 1945, the coin is dated 1991 to 1995 for the 50th anniversary of those years. This Proof 69 1991-1995 World War II Half Dollar has the Ultra Cameo designation as certified by NGC and is a wonderful choice for collectors.

Obverse

The powerful images on this coin include a large ‘V’ for victory with three figures in front of it: a soldier on the right, a sailor in the middle, and a nurse on the left. A military plane is shown above the portraits with 5 stars at the top of the coin. Also on the obverse are the motto ‘In God We Trust,’ the years 1991-1995 and the work ‘Liberty.’

Reverse

On the back of the coin a soldier lies in a sniper position with his knees on the ground. A military ship is shown moving toward the battle, and a small military plane soars overhead. Also on the reverse are the words ‘United States of America,’ the motto ‘E Pluribus Unum’ and the denomination of the coin ‘Half Dollar.’
