Full Description

Made of a quarter-ounce of gold, the 1987 U.S. Constitution Bicentennial Gold Commemorative is a wonderful celebration of our nation's history.

Since 1986, the U.S. Mint has produced 90% Gold coins, the same size and weight as $5 Liberty and Indian Heads, that celebrate a wide range of historic American people, events and places. The various issues and finishes are ideal for Gold coin collectors. Its past issues include the Olympics, the Statue of Liberty, the Constitution, President James Madison, Mt. Rushmore and the Star Spangled Banner, just to name a few.

Shown on the front of the coin is a modernistic design by Marcel Jovine, and pictures a stylized eagle holding a massive quill pen.

On the Reverse of the coin is a detailed, centered quill pen with the "We The People" text that has become so synonymous with American and freedom.
