Full Description

Coin collectors around America debated for decades about who was the model for the Standing Liberty quarter. The mystery began when one actress, Doris Doree, was named as the model. She became known as the ‘quarter girl.’ But, decades later, the news came that the model was actually Irene MacDowell, the wife of one of the designer’s tennis partners. The coin, minted from 1916 to 1930, was the inspiration for this 1 oz. Standing Liberty Silver Bullion Round. The round is a perfect choice for investors looking for low-premium silver.

Herman MacNeil, under the supervision of U.S. Mint Chief Engraver Charles E. Barber designed the Standing Liberty coin featuring Lady Liberty as a goddess holding an olive branch in one hand and brandishing a broadsword in the other. The design represented America’s ultimate goal of peace, but also the country’s willingness to fight for right during World War I.

The Walking Liberty Silver Round offered here uses the same design. The front of this Silver Round also features the motto ‘In God We Trvst,’ ‘Liberty’ and ‘1916.’

The back of the coin features a flying eagle. The Round also features the weight and purity as ‘One Troy Ounce .999 Fine Silver, the motto ‘E Pruritus Unum,’ and the producer, ‘Golden State Mint.’
