Full Description

Made in the United States, the one ounce copper rounds were minted privately and are guaranteed to contain one-ounce of .999 fine copper.

Though the inspiration for this coin is referred to as the ‘Mercury Dime,’ the coin actually featured the profile of Lady Liberty wearing a winged cap. It’s intention was to symbolize the liberty of thought. Adolph a. Weinman designed both the Obverse, and Reverse of the coin: another famous design by Weinman was the Walking Liberty featured on the Silver Dollar.

On the Obverse of the coin is the leftward facing Winged Liberty Head, showing a smiling liberty with winged cap covering her braided hair. “Liberty” is inscribed around her image as it appears in the original design, and the insignia “In God We Trust” is shown on the lower left.

On the Reverse of the one ounce .999 copper round is the original Mercury Dime design which depicts a faces, the object carried by civil servants accompanying Roman magistrates, with an olive branch shown to the left of the object. It was meant to symbolize war, justice, and peace; in an overall meaning of “don’t tread on me.”

Pure copper rounds, like the one ounce .999 Copper Mercury Dime are sensitive to the oils of the human hand. GMR recommends handling your coins with gloves, or by the edges to avoid staining the surface. Store in a sulfur-free environment, like the pvc tubing, or capsules to ensure the longevity of your investment.
