Full Description

Made in the United States, the one ounce copper rounds were minted privately and are guaranteed to contain one-ounce of .9995 fine copper.

Constructed by American General and South Carolinian Christopher Gadsen in 1775, the Gadsen Flag was first flown by Commodore Esek Hopkins. A copy was presented to the Congress in Charleston, South Carolina and was recorded in the journals of February 1776,

Obverse
Shown on front of the copper round is the focal point of the Gadsen Flag: the coiled rattlesnake, ready to strike. Above the image are the famous words “Don’t Tread On Me” and below is the inscription, “Established in 1754.” The year denotes when the first image, created by Benjamin Franklin in 1754, appeared in his Pennsylvania Gazette, showing the severed snake, titled “Join or Die.”

Reverse

On the back of the coin is the Silver Shield design from the Silver Shield coin collection. The intricate design is surrounded by inscriptions that guarantee the weight and purity of the coin.

Pure copper rounds, like the one ounce .999 Copper Don't Tread On Me are sensitive to the oils of the human hand. GMR recommends handling your coins with gloves, or by the edges to avoid staining the surface. Store in a sulfur-free environment, like the pvc tubing, or capsules to ensure the longevity of your investment.
