Full Description

In 1793, the U.S. government minted its first dollar coin, now known as the Flowing Hair coin. Its 32.6mm diameter and 1/2 troy ounce of silver is based on the Spanish dollar that was used in trade throughout North, Central and South America. It was struck within 2 years after the U.S. Mint was authorized to produce it by the Coinage Act of 1792. Offered here is a .999 Fine Silver Round featuring the original Robert Scot design, is the perfect addition to a collection of rounds inspired by early American coins. The premium on rounds such as this are typically low, and their small size makes them easy to sell or trade. A distinctive and well-struck silver round, it is a great addition to a precious metals portfolio and approved for inclusion in a precious metals IRA.

The front of the round presents the right-facing profile of a beautiful woman with long hair flowing as if in a breeze. Below is a flower with three petals and the date 1793.

The reverse of the round shows the weight and purity of One Troy Ounce .999 Pure Silver with the producer’s name above and wheat to each side reminiscent of the American wheat penny.
