Celebrating the XXVI Olympiad Summer Games held in Atlanta, Georgia, the 1995 Silver Olympic Commemorative coin features one of the most recognizable sports of the Olympics: gymnastics.

Part of the 16 designs featured to celebrate the Olympic Games, the coins were released from 1995 to 1996 and feature popular events and symbolism associated with the Summer Olympics. With an authorized mintage of 750,000, the coins actual mintage is 42, 497 for the unciruclated coins and 182,676 for the proof.

Obverse

Shown on the front of the 1995 Silver Olympic Commemorative coin is a design by James C. Sharpe showcasing a male and female gymnast in beautiful detail. Included in the design are inscriptions that include "Liberty" the date "1995" and "In God We Trust" with the USA Olympics logo.

Reverse

On the back of the coin is the common design featured on all of the 1995 Olympic Silver Dollars and portrays the clasped hands of two athletes with a modern rendition of the Olympic torch shown above. The inscriptions read “United States of America”, “E Pluribus Unum”, “Atlanta” and “One Dollar."
